Westfield, NJ — The New Jersey Festival Orchestra (NJFO) proudly announces the establishment of The David Badertscher Conductor’s Chair in Honor of Maestro David Wroe, made possible through the extraordinary generosity of longtime supporter and Board member David Badertscher.
Mr. Badertscher’s transformational gift reflects his, and NJFO;s continued investment in the classical repertoire and affirms NJFO’s mission to bring great works of the past to life for contemporary audiences.
In recognition of Mr. Badertscher’s exceptional generosity and many years of devoted service—as a Board member, advocate, and supporter—the New Jersey Festival Orchestra has named the David Badertscher Conductor’s Chair in perpetuity in honor of Music Director Maestro David Wroe. During his long tenure on the NJFO Board of Directors, Mr. Badertscher has come to know Maestro Wroe not only as a respected colleague but also as a valued friend. In recognition of Maestro Wroe’s sustained leadership and exceptional success in advancing musical excellence locally, nationally, and internationally, Mr. Badertscher has chosen to honor him through the sponsorship of this newly established Conductor’s Chair.

About the Donor David Badertscher serves on the boards of the New Jersey Festival Orchestra and the Light Opera of New Jersey. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Fellowship Life Foundation and its organizing Task Force. In 2024, he received a special award from Bernards Township recognizing his outstanding service to the township and the State of New Jersey. His professional honors include the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and listings in Who’s Who in America.
